Meet Your Tour Guides

Cooper, ’24 // Team Lead

Cooper, '24, smiling for the camera outside

Hello, everyone! My name is Cooper; I am a senior from South Windsor, Connecticut studying aviation science with a double concentration in flight training and aviation management with a track to be an airline pilot post-college.

Outside of working in the tour guide office, I have immersed myself in the BSU community by getting involved with the honors program, the American Cancer Society on-campus organization, being a member of the men's swimming and diving team, as well as being a resident assistant in our residence halls. What I love about BSU is the quiet suburban setting, the beautiful green spaces, and the small school academic experience while being at a mid-sized school. I have created concrete relationships with my professors, even those that are not within my degree, and that is only possible because of the culture of BSU. My favorite events to attend on campus are the bingo nights, the carnival and the drag show! I have loved my experience thus far at BSU, and I hope you will too!

If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out to me at ccastellone@student.bridgew.edu.

Sarah, ’25 // Team Lead

Sarah, '25, smiling for the camera outside

Hi, everyone! My name is Sarah; I am a junior here at BSU from Franklin, Massachusetts. I am studying social work and psychology, with hopes to continue with my education, getting a masters focusing on children’s mental health and family studies.

Along with working in the tour guide office, I also work with the Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center on campus, doing service work with K-12 students. In my free time, I love to spend time with friends, go on hikes, and use the MBTA to go into Boston! I chose BSU because of the academic opportunities and welcoming community. The small class sizes have become my favorite part of learning due to the ability to have close relationships with professors. The sense of community here has made BSU feel like home! Throughout the year, I love attending the different events held throughout finals week (especially the late-night breakfast for dinner!), as well as involvement fairs. I cannot recommend BSU enough, and I hope you love it here as well!

Feel free to reach out with any questions: sbernstein@student.bridgew.edu.

Tanasia, ’24

Tanasia, '24, smiling for the camera outside

Hello, everyone! My name is Tanasia, and I am a senior here at BSU. I am majoring in biology and minoring in criminal justice in the hope to one day become a forensic analyst.

Aside from being a tour guide, I am a resident assistant, an orientation leader and I am also the president of IAMSSTEM, which is a multicultural student organization here on campus. Although BSU was not my first choice, I will forever be grateful for this place and the people I’ve met within it. From drag shows to carnivals, Bridgewater has managed to help build connections and I hope you build yours!

If you have any questions or want to learn more, please do not hesitate to email me at t3carter@student.bridgew.edu!

Kiya, ’25

Kiya, '25, smiling for the camera outside

Hey! My name is Kiya and I am from Princeton, which is in central Mass. I am majoring in early childhood education and care while minoring in literacy studies. I am also an office assistant at the Center for Student Engagement!

While on campus I have continued to make strides to become more involved as I joined Film Society as well as Best Buddies. Some of my favorite things to do on campus is to sit on the grass with my friends and read. I also love taking walks with my roommates to enjoy our beautiful campus! I chose Bridgewater State for our education major. When looking for schools I would tell people I planned on majoring in education they would always suggest BSU. After checking it out, I quickly fell in love with this school. My favorite events on campus are always the bingo nights! I really love Bridgewater and I hope you will, too!

Sydney, ’25

Sydney, '25, smiling for the camera outside

Hi! My name is Sydney; I am a junior this year. I am a secondary education major in history and social studies. I am from Plymouth, Massachusetts — yes, the birthplace of the rock! I also work as a peer mentor for Student Accessibility Services, which I am excited about.

I have many hobbies, including being around my friends and doing very intense board game nights, where I usually lose — lol. On nice sunny days, I like going into Boston, to Faneuil Hall or the Aquarium to see the seals. The reason I chose BSU is because if I were going to become a teacher, I would go to the best teaching school in the state. I also enjoyed the campus and the idea of getting great services to benefit my education and succeeding at Bridgewater State. The BSU carnival is incredibly fun, and it’s a good way to meet people and go on some cool rides. I am always super excited to get back to campus, get back to work and get back to my friends at BSU.

If you have any questions at all, email me at s1cuttle@gmail.com.

Iza, ’24

Iza, '24, smiling for the camera outside

Hello, everyone, my name is Iza! I am a senior from Everett, Massachusetts, studying communication sciences and disorders with a minor in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL).

Outside of working in the tour guide office, I am on the e-board of a club here on campus for Latino students. We plan different events like Noche Loca, which helps immerse the BSU community by showcasing Latino traditions from around the world. I am also a resident assistant here on campus and have worked in both Shea-Durgin (biggest first year building) and Miles and DiNardo! One of my favorite things here on campus is the size — we are a medium school with small size classes. BSU also offers classes with a wide variety.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out via email at idesouzaz@student.bridgew.edu.

Rebecca, ’24

Rebecca, '24, smiles for the camera outside

Hi, everyone! My name is Rebecca, and I am a senior from Hopkinton, Massachusetts, double majoring in theatre education and secondary education.

Outside of the tour guide office, I’m in a sorority, a member of Student Theatre Association, and I am part of the honors program. I also work in our Academic Achievement Center as a Peer Advisor! Choosing BSU was an easy decision for me; the community feel I get at BSU is one I didn’t experience at any other school I visited. I’ve been encouraged to find what I am passionate about and to make connections with not only my fellow students, but with professors who truly care about you and your success, both in the classroom and in life. I personally love larger events like Homecoming, bingo nights, and the drag show that we have on campus, but there are so many smaller events that I have loved as well.

If you have any questions for me about the theatre or education programs, or about BSU life in general, please feel free to reach out! My email is rgallant@student.bridgew.edu.

Jaydin, ’24

Jaydin, '24, smiling for the camera outside

Hello, my name is Jaydin. I am an aviation science major with a concentration in flight training.

When not giving tours or flying I serve as a resident assistant in Woodward Hall with first year students. Additionally, I am a member of the BSU Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron as an assistant emergency services officer and I serve on the e-board of the Organization of Black Areospace Professionals. Bridgewater is a great option for a local and cost effective way to begin a career in aviation.

Annabelle, ’25

Annabelle, '25, smiling for the camera outside

Hey, all! My name is Annabelle, I am a junior from Gilmanton, New Hampshire. I am studying special education, for individuals with severe disabilities grades K-12, with an additional minor in recreation. After college, I wish to be a teacher and coach!

When I am not giving tours or working, I am heavily involved in Greek life on campus. I joined a sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, during the spring semester of my freshman year. Being involved in a sorority has given me lifelong friends and many leadership opportunities. I also play intramural soccer and enjoy attending group fitness classes here on campus. I chose BSU for a variety of different reasons. First, because when touring campus, it felt like home. I love the community feeling and the large areas of green space where I am able to sit outside, study or spend time with my friends and sorority sisters. Bridgewater State has one of the best education programs in the state and that was an extremely key factor to me based on my chosen area of study. The final reason I chose BSU was because the class sizes did not make me feel lost, helping me to build connections with my peers and especially my professors. My favorite campus events are sports games. I love the atmosphere and being able to get dressed up with all my friends. BSU has truly been my home away from home and I hope it will be for you, too!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out at aeisenmann@student.bridgew.edu.

Rianne, ’26

Rianne, '26, smiling for the camera outside

Hi, everyone! My name is Rianne; I am a sophomore from Hudson, Massachusetts, studying history and cultural anthropology and minoring in American studies.

When I am not working in the tour guide office, I am busy being the secretary of the anthropology club and an active member of the equestrian team. I’m also involved with the honors program and many different advisory boards around campus. I chose BSU for the homey feel and have come to love the atmosphere and wonderful people I’ve met while exploring campus. All of the professors I have taken courses with thus far in my academic career have been so amazing and have made me exited to come to class every day! My favorite BSU tradition has to be bingo — it is always so much fun to hang out with your friends and try to win some great prizes. It also shows the amazing spirit we all have as a student body. I have loved my experience at BSU, and I hope that you will as well!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at rwyckstrom@student.bridgew.edu.

Wicahpi, ’24

Wicahpi, '24, smiling for the camera outside

Hi, my name is Wicahpi Chaddlesone-Yankton, and I am a senior on the BSU campus. I am originally from Pine Ridge, South Dakota and I am currently studying political science with a concentration in international affairs. I have two minors, which are English and integrated communication.

When I am not being a tour guide, I am working as information desk attendant in the Rondileau Student Union and being president of the Indigenous Culture Allies Association, which is an open student organization for all BSU students. I do enjoy working with other student organizations on the BSU campus, such as all the multicultural student organizations. In my free time, I enjoy making playlists with new music centered around certain themes, or reading poetry and books while sitting outside near Maxwell Library. My reason for attending BSU started in the summer of 2017 when I came to stay on campus for a few weeks to attend an academic program. I knew from that summer that BSU will always be on my mind when it came to the college selection process. I was given a wonderful academic opportunity though a scholarship that supports my time here at BSU.

One thing that I love about BSU is the community and relationships that you will continue to grow throughout your years of attending BSU. One event that I enjoy on campus is Duck Day, as it’s the only time in my life that I will become competitive to find a yellow duck for a random prize.

Eva, ’25

Eva, '25, smiling for the camera outside

Hello, everyone, my name is Eva, and I am a junior here at BSU. I am from Braintree, Massachusetts. I am majoring in criminal justice with minors in biology and psychology.

On campus, I am a tour guide, member of biology club, and a part of our undergraduate research program. In my free time, I like to hang out with my friends, use our on-campus gym (which is free to students!), cook and make oil pastel drawings. I am also training for a half-marathon, so I love to run! I chose BSU because I love the small school feel without it actually being too small, and I love how there is something for everyone here! My favorite campus tradition is Homecoming because of all the amazing food, fun activities and the football game.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at erando@student.bridgew.edu. Go Bears!

Giana, ’26

Giana, '26, smiling for the camera outside

Hello, there! My name is Giana; I am a sophomore at BSU, and I am from Brimfield, Massachusetts. I am studying a double major in music education with vocal concentration and dance.

I am very involved on campus as I hold several jobs and leadership positions! Along with being a tour guide, I am also an orientation leader, which has immersed me in the amazing culture at BSU and created connections for a lifetime. I am president of the National Dance Education Organization Student Chapter and vice president of the Student Theatre Association. I am also very involved in the performing arts mainstage productions on campus. In my free time, I love to meet up with friends and enjoy a strawberry refresher from Starbucks on campus. In between classes, you will catch me hanging out in the music lounge in the RSU, working on homework and probably eating sushi or a poke bowl. My favorite campus tradition is the midnight breakfast hosted the day before finals begin — it always gives me the steam and courage I need to get through the stressful week ahead!

I chose BSU because the second I stepped on campus for my first ever college tour, I immediately felt at home and knew that this campus was the place for me. As a first-generation student, this gut feeling and my tour guide’s passion and spirit for the community made my decision easy. I now want to create that same experience for new students and families/supporters!

Please feel free to email me at guwazany@student.bridgew.edu with any questions about BSU, the performing arts, or anything else. Hope to see you soon and as always: GO BEARS!

Kaitlyn, ’26

Kaitlyn, '26, smiling for the camera outside

Hi, everyone! My name is Kaitlyn and I’m from Norton, Massachusetts. As a sophomore here at BSU, I’m a double major in secondary education and English with a minor in special education inclusive practices.

I’m currently part of the Commonwealth Honors program and I’m looking forward to getting involved in Best Buddies and the Orientation Team! I chose BSU because of its exceptional education program, which allows students to enter the classroom as quickly as their first year and go abroad for their student teaching. My favorite on campus events are Homecoming and bingo nights!

BSU has become my home and I’m so excited to share it with all of you! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out at kmccarney@student.bridgew.edu.

Madyson, ’26

Madyson, '26, smiling for the camera outside

Hello, I am Madyson Esquivel, a sophomore here at BSU! I am an out-of-state student, currently living in Texas when I am not here.

I chose to come to Bridgewater State University because the tuition is very low for out-of-state students, and BSU has a lot of different opportunities that they offer, at a very affordable price. I am currently a double major in English and philosophy, studying to go into higher education and become a university professor. On campus, I am involved with the school newspaper, The Comment, and am currently working an internship focused on establishing a chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). My favorite campus event is the bingo games that the Center for Student Engagement puts on for students. In my free time I enjoy spending time reading, writing, listening to music, walking, and studying philosophical theories.

Anna, ’26

Anna, '26, smiling for the camera outside

Hello! My name is Anna, and I’m a sophomore who is studying English and secondary education.

Outside of being a tour guide, I am the secretary of BSU’s History Club, and I have previously been involved in technical theater; I did a practicum in the Scene Shop during the fall semester of 2022, and I got to be the assistant scenic designer for the musical in the spring of 2023! In my free time, I enjoy painting and creative writing. In terms of BSU, I chose to be a tour guide because I am thoroughly enjoying my college experience here. I have been able to get involved, connect with my professors, and push myself academically. My classes prove the joy of learning to me, and overall, my time here has felt exciting and worthwhile. My favorite event on campus was one held at University Park where students were able to make their own stuffed bear. It was during my first semester here, and it sticks out to me because it just completely captures what I love about BSU. There’s always something going on that makes you want to jump right in, and the friendly and positive culture here makes it easy to do so. My other favorites have been the Summer Pride program and the Lunar New Year celebration!

If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out to a3connor@student.bridgew.edu — I’m happy to answer!

Madison, ’25

Madison, '25, smiling for the camera outside

Hi, everyone, my name is Madison, and I am from Swansea, Massachusetts! I will be a junior in the fall and am studying social work with a minor in childhood studies, aiming to become a school social worker.

I am very involved in many different organizations at BSU, such as the orientation program, dance company, Gamma Phi Beta sorority, Children's Physical Developmental Clinic, and the honors program. I was drawn to BSU because of the welcoming atmosphere I felt not only from my own tour guide, but from the rest of campus as well. This campus is truly one big community, and that is something I felt right away when I first came to BSU. Some of my favorite events to attend on campus are Relay for Life in April and the Homecoming pageant! I love these events because they are a great way to get the whole campus together and have some fun. BSU has become my home away from home, and I have no doubt you will feel this way as well.

If any questions arise, feel free to contact me through my email, m1raymondo@student.bridge.edu!

Hannah, ’24

Hannah, '24, smiling for the camera outside

Hi everyone! My name is Hannah; I’m a senior majoring in psychology and minoring in social welfare. I am from Quincy, Massachusetts, which is around a 40-minute drive from BSU.

Outside of being a tour guide, I am a clinician for the Children’s Physical and Developmental Clinic, I work for the study abroad office as a student outreach coordinator, I am involved in undergraduate research, and I currently hold the title of PR manager for Gen. One. I chose BSU because not only is it close to home, but they have an amazing psychology program that offered everything that I could have wanted. I have been able to immerse myself in the course material by partaking in research and taking a wide range of psychology classes that will come of a benefit to me when I go into graduate school and into the work field. Some of my favorite events that I have attended on campus include the bingo nights, the “build-a-bear” activities, and the carnival. My experience at BSU has been so valuable and I hope that you have a positive experience here at BSU.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me. My email is hkyller@student.bridgew.edu. I look forward to meeting you!

Matt, ’25

Matt, '25, smiling for the camera outside

Hello, everyone! My name is Matt; I am a junior majoring in English and secondary education, and I am from Taunton.

Throughout my time at BSU, I have worked within our orientation team in a few different roles as well as within our admissions office as a tour guide. What I most love about BSU is how connected our student population is while attending the many amazing events on campus and making connections with new people throughout the year, as well as seeing how passionate and involved our students are on campus! My favorite events to attend on campus are the ones hosted by our program council, but some events I’ve enjoyed are the big bingo nights we have on the Boyden Quad, as well as some of the Mario Kart tournaments we had in the past.

Tasnim, ’26

Tasnim, '26, smiling for the camera outside

Hello, everyone! My name is Tasnim. I am a sophomore from Bangladesh, studying business management.

Apart from working as a tour guide, I have also been actively involved in various student organizations like Program Council to stay connected to the BSU community and have a good time. One of the best aspects of BSU is its campus size — it’s neither too big nor too small, just the perfect size! The professors and peers here are incredibly friendly, creating a welcoming environment. The BSU community remains lively with numerous events taking place throughout the semester, including Homecoming, bingo nights, involvement fair and more. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at BSU so far, and I hope you will, too!

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at trahman@student.bridgew.edu.

Cathryn, ’25

Cathryn, '25, smiling for the camera outside

Hi, everyone! My name is Cathryn and I’m a junior majoring in elementary education and English with a creative writing concentration. I’m from Littleton, Massachusetts and this will be my first year working as a tour guide for BSU. I am so excited to share the incredible experiences I’ve had at BSU thus far.

When I first came to college, I was very shy, and I was worried I wasn’t going to make the most out of my time here. Thankfully, Bridgewater has so many opportunities to offer, including a wide variety of clubs, organizations, events and jobs. These opportunities gave me the boost in confidence I needed, and I couldn’t be happier with all the involvements I am in today here at Bridgewater. I am a part of Greek life and I hold the Panhellenic position for my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta. Some of my favorite events on campus include Homecoming and spirit week. I love all the events BSU puts on prior to the Homecoming football game and becoming a superfan in the stands during the game. In my free time, I love walking with friends downtown to get Restoration Coffee, getting my homework done in Maxwell Library, and when I’m hungry I love ordering chicken broccoli alfredo from the pasta bar in the Bear’s Den.

My email is choenshell@student.bridgew.edu — feel free to email me with any questions!

Kira, ’25

Kira, '25, smiling for the camera outside

Hello, Bears! My name is Kira; I am a junior here at Bridgewater State University, studying English and secondary education and minoring in theatre arts. I am 20 years old and I’m from Tewksbury, Massachusetts, which is just outside of Lowell.

Outside of working in the tour guide office, I also am a resident assistant in Scott Hall on the west side of campus! Although I may be biased, I do believe that coming to BSU was the single best choice I have ever made for myself. Here on our campus, there truly is a place for everyone. BSU offers a little bit of the best of both worlds when it comes to the campus itself, which is one of my favorite parts of being a student here. Our campus is small enough to find someone you know everywhere you go, but it’s also big enough for students to have room to grow within campus life. Between the student body, the faculty and the staff, BSU has grown to feel like my home. I have been able to connect with so many different people in my time here, and I can confidently say that those connections are not going anywhere any time soon. I absolutely adore BSU, and I hope that you will grow to feel the same!

Feel free to reach out with any questions: k1hodges@student.bridgew.edu.

Stratos, ’27

Stratos, '27, smiling for the camera outside

My name is Stratos Bonos. I am a commuter student from South Grafton, Massachusetts, and I am a music education student. I re-started my college career in January 2023 after 23 years in the business world. My heart was calling on me to follow my dreams, as it is never too late.

I chose to attend BSU because of the culture of kindness, and the welcoming nature of the transfer department. The staff, the tour guide, along with the head of the music department made me feel so at ease and comfortable that I knew this was the school for me. I can say, after just one semester, I would add the student body to my list of why I love BSU. My sister graduated here 32 years ago, and I can say that it is just as special today as it was for her 30+ years ago. BSU is more than a university — it is a real community. I have had the pleasure of attending many events, but my favorite thus far is the pop vocal music group. They put on such an amazing show that I joined the group this year. I love the tradition of our school’s anthem that has been in place for decades.

I am proud to be an undergraduate here and look forward to providing prospective students with the same incredible welcome I received. I welcome your questions any time at sbonos@student.bridgew.edu.

Cindy, ’24

Cindy, '24, smiling for the camera outside

Hey, everyone! My name is Cindy; I am a senior from Braintree, Massachusetts, and I am a resident on campus. I'm double majoring in biology and secondary education with the goal of being a science teacher!

Some of my involvements include previously being on the orientation team as an orientation leader and a student orientation coordinator. I am also part of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH). During my free time on campus, I love spending time with my friends and classmates out in the dining halls or at one of the on-campus events such as our bingo events and involvement fairs. I chose BSU because I saw the true community here when I was on my tour. Despite having a large population of students, both residents and commuters, students have so many opportunities to meet and connect with each other!

If you ever have any questions, don't be afraid to email me at c1dang@student.bridgew.edu.

Kelsey, ’24

Kelsey, '24, smiling for the camera

Hello, all! My name is Kelsey, and I am a senior from Marshfield, Massachusetts, studying social work with a minor in psychology.

When I’m not at the tour guide office, you can find me all over campus! I also work at the information desk in the student union, volunteer for the Martin Richard Social Justice Institute, and I am a part of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority here at Bridgewater State University. One of the reasons I chose BSU was because of the sense of community I felt as soon as I visited campus. There is so much to see and do while on campus as well as so many new people to meet. The small class sizes have allowed me to create personal connections with my peers and professors, allowing me to succeed in many different ways! My favorite BSU events have to be Homecoming and the welcome back events. I could not imagine myself at any other school.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at k7sweeney@student.bridgew.edu.

Hi everyone! My name is Amelia, and I am currently a freshman, originally from Middleboro Massachusetts. I major in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Nutrition.

In addition to being a tour guide, I am also a lifeguard on campus and a cheerleader for the 7-time National Champion cheer team here at BSU. Although I’m only a few months into my college experience, Bridgewater State has provided me with all the tools I need to be successful and happy while transitioning to living on my own and navigating college life. I've taken advantage of some of the amazing opportunities here at BSU such as tutoring and counseling. (Both included in my tuition!) I've found that whenever I need any assistance, BSU has exactly what I need. In my free time, I have enjoyed many functions such as welcome events and Homecoming Weekend. I have made so many friends here, and I feel truly supported and at home. Choosing BSU is the best decision I have made for myself. I'm so proud to be a Bear!

Feel free to reach out to my email a1stebbins@student.bridgew.edu if you have any questions!

Hoang, ’26

Hoang smiling with short straight dark hair wearing a red BSU polo shirt

My name is Hoang and I’m from Taunton. I am a Sophomore majoring in Anthropology with the hope to research in the future.

My mom told me that you need to work to be happy. I took her advice and currently I am a resident, student leader, and student worker on campus. My mom and college helped me truly understand the importance of culture through being an active bear. My favorite part about BSU is the amount of green space we have on campus which allows me to explore the campus and connect with my surroundings.

If you would like to know more about the campus you can reach me at h5tran@student.bridgew.edu.
